Location:  Australia and New Zealand

Environment:  brackish; marine ; depth range
 0 - 40 m

Climate:  Temperate.  Require 66-72 degrees. 

Availability:  Not unusual in the aquarium trade.

Physical Characteristics:  max size 32 cm (13 inches). Coronet: low, triangular wedge.  Spines: low, rounded bumps only; prominent rounded eye spines; deep body; near white to mottled yellow to variable brown; dark spots and splotches

Reproduction:  approximately 28 days.  Average brood size 300.  Fry relatively large, pelagic
